I have been trying to get timiditty on void linux to work. I want to play OpenTTD with that beautiful midi music. But for me, timiditty did not work. It kept complaining about the lack some configuration file. I checked in the default spots but it wasn't there. After looking it up, I realised that freepats came with a default configuration file. After creating the folder /etc/timidity/ and copying the default configuration file from /usr/share/examples/freepats/timidity-freepats.cfg to /etc/timidity/, and renaming the timidity-freepats.cfg to timidity.cfg. It worked. I was able to play OpenTTD with beautiful midi music in the background.
